The Feed in Tariff:

​The tax-free Feed-in Tariffs scheme means that homeowners who generate electricity from solar power get paid for energy they produce and use themselves, a little bit extra for any electricity they produce, don’t use and put into the grid, and will also see their energy bills fall.



The United Kingdom is committed to increase the use of renewable energy and to encourage homeowners to invest in renewable energy sources. In order to make this possible, the government has made all investments in solar PV installations tax-free and the homeowners are guaranteed payments for 20 years. The payments are linked to the Retail Price Index, which means that payments rise in proportion with inflation over 20 years.
